Our school

The Peter-Paul-Cahensly-Schule (abbr: PPC) is a vocational school focussing on economic subjects.Right now approximately 1600 students are attending the school. They are taught by 143 teachers of whom about 100 form the school´s own staff. The other teachers belong to a neighboring vocational school focussing on technical subjects.

Our school offers a wide range of vocational education and training in part time and full time departments.

Students´ numbers split here evenly: 50 per cent of them attend part time courses and 50 per cent engage in full time education.

The school´s biggest department concerning the number of students and the number of classes is the one offering part time education that means for most of the students training on the job for three days a week and theoretical training at school for two days a week, for those who take a training as bank officials it means six weeks alternating training in a bank and at school.

The PPC´s school board consists of the principal, the vice principal, her back up, four heads of department, the person in charge of the courses in office work training and the administrative director.

As we think that mastering foreign languages is especially important for job qualifications we have established twinning and exchange programs with schools in the USA, France, Spain and Poland.

Concerning school development we work together with schools in Austria, Estonia and Lithuania. In this respect we are the only vocational school in Hesse being honored with a label “for supporting highly gifted students” by our federal secretary of education.

In addition, in 2005 the school even got a prize for innovation by Hesse´s leading enterprises

Finally, all our activities have led us to the decision to participate in Hesse´s most prominent project on the school sector: the creation of vast educational units aimed at achieving their administrative and financial independence.
